Come to Camp

  • This is exactly as it sounds, setting up camp! Here you will put together the quonset huts, maqii (sauna), tents, bathrooms, prepare vehicles, and fill the campground with all food and items needed for the following weeks.

There are no campers during this week, but volunteers at this camp will still get a background check done.

Volunteers can arrive in or leave Kotzebue anytime within the set up camp dates above.

  • The Leadership Retreat is designed for campers who desire a deeper understanding of who God is and what that means for their everyday lives. This week is an intentional time of growth; spiritually, relationally, and practically as campers prepare to step into leadership roles in the weeks that follow. This retreat is not available to middle schoolers.

Campers who attend the retreat will have the opportunity to lead their peers during High School Camp and serve younger students during Middle School Camp. We follow the “I do, We do, You do” model of leadership development:

I do: During the retreat week, adult leaders model what it looks like to serve as a tent leader.

We do: The following week, campers and adults co-lead together.

You do: In the final week, campers step into the primary leadership role, with adults serving as support and encouragement.

Through this process, campers don’t just learn about leadership, they actively practice it. By the end, they are equipped with both the confidence and experience to lead others well.

June 29th and July 3rd are travel days to/from camp.

We ask that volunteers arrive before and leave after the travel days.

  • High school camp is for students going into 9th grade up to Spring 2026 high school graduates.

July 6th and July 11th are travel days to/from camp.

We ask that volunteers arrive before and leave after the travel days.

  • Middle school camp is for students who are going to be in grades 6-8 this fall.

July 14 and July 18 are travel days to/from camp.

We ask that volunteers arrive before and leave after the travel days.

  • During this camp, we take down everything at the campsite and bring it back to town. We ensure that the land we were on looks better than before we got there, and that the camp items are neatly and properly stored away for the year.

There are no campers during this week, but volunteers at this camp will still get a background check done.

Volunteers can arrive in or leave Kotzebue anytime within the take down camp dates above.
